Studies:
BSc in Agriculture from the Agricultural University of Athens. Diploma in Applied Zoology from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. PhD in Plant protection from the University of London.

Teaching Experience:
Professor in Entomology and Pesticide Science, School of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, TEI of Crete since 1988. Director of the Entomology Laboratory for over 20 years. Teaches undergraduate courses in Entomology, Plant Protection, Apiculture and Ecotoxicity at the TEI of Crete and a postgraduate course in Pest Management at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania.

Research and other Scientific Work:
Research into pest management and side effects of pesticides, Benaki Phytopathological Institute, 10 years. Research into Integrated Pest Management, Resistance and Protection of Beneficial Arthropods, East Malling Research Station, UK, 3 years. 1988 to present, TEI of Crete, Research Coordinator and/or Associate in many Greek and European competitive projects on insect and mite management, and the side effects and safety of pesticide applications for people and the environment. Over 50 research papers, monographs and conference papers. Reviewer of research projects and publications. Active in research planning, organisation and development. Coordinator of scientific teams on the offering of technological services to agriculture, the quality of agricultural productive processes, and development.
Vice President and subsequently Rector of the TEI of Crete since 2005.
