The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University accepts applications for postgraduate studies in Informatics Engineering every year starting from September 2012. Scope and objective
The postgraduate program ‘Informatics Engineering’ has duration 18 months (3 semesters) and aims to provide candidates with high quality theoretical and practical knowledge on established and emerging topics in Informatics Engineering . The program is organized around modules (courses) comprising theoretical and laboratory work which is undertaken in the first and second semesters. The final semester is devoted to the development of a research-oriented Master thesis on a competitive subject. At the end of the postgraduate program successful candidates should be able to demonstrate expertise in a selected domain of Informatics Engineering, as well as competence in defining, organizing and conducting research.

Studies Program’s innovations
Since the academic year 2015 -2016, the study program has been improved and enriched, offering a range of privileges and advantages making it one of the most competitive programs in the academic field of our country.

Elective Courses – Specialization
From offered courses of the first two semesters of study, two (2) of them are compulsory (one per semester) and six (6) are elective (three per semester) from the total of 20 courses of this study program.

Furthermore, there are 3 specializations

In order for a student to obtain a specialization 4 out of the 6 courses and the master thesis must be from the specialization.

i) Option for full or part time attendance  of the courses
There is a choice of full or part-time study, depending on availability and time every student can spend to complete the MSc. The part-time course attendance requires following two (2) courses per semester and leads to completion of the MSc program in three years.

ii) Option for acquiring second recognized MSc degree in collaboration with the University of Burgundy (France).
Αfter two agreements with the University of Burgundy  (agreement I) (agreement II), the program students who wish to attend an additional semester (English courses) in France and also accomplish a common postgraduate project (Master Thesis), are offered the option to acquire a second and recognized postgraduate degree in “Computer Vision” or “AI in Health”   from the partner institution. Time Period
The Master Program ‘Informatics Engineering’ has a duration of 18 months (three semesters) and leads on a recognized postgraduate degree approved by the Ministry of Education, Life-long Learning & Religious Affairs (Government Newspaper Issue (2094/08.06.2018 in Greek).

Dates of Applications

Tuition Fees: NO TUITION FEES FOR EU STUDENTS. For compensation, all accepted students are obliged to offer educational or supporting work to the department for up to 6 (six) hours per week.

Candidates
The postgraduate program accepts up to 25 candidates per academic year. Applicants should possess a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer and Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized higher education institution. Applicants with different degrees are also allowed, provided they have advanced skills in ICT.
